В статье представлены результаты теоретико-методологического анализа понятия «культура», стоящего в ряду фундаментальных в современной социологии. Рассмотрены различные аспекты применения данного понятия: терминологический, антропологический, этнографический, семиотический, социологический. Внимание автора акцентируется на полифункциональности лексемы «культура» и необходимости осмысливать его в определенном контексте. Предпринята попытка раскрыть определение культуры в рамках технологического, деятельностного и аксиологического подходов. С целью систематизации лексемы «культура» автор статьи выделяет группы определений, в основу которых положены различные понятия: социальное наследие, стандартизированное поведение, абстракция поведения, бихевиоризм, биологические явления. На основании рассмотренных концепций, диалектических подходов к определению понятия «культура» автором сформулирован ряд тезисов, позволяющих раскрыть сущность и многогранность данного феномена.

The article presents the results of theoretical and methodological analysis of the concept of culture, being a one of fundamental in modern sociology. Various aspects of this concept: terminology, anthropological, ethnographic, semiotic, sociological are reviewed. The author´s attention is focused on multifunctional token "culture" and the need to interpret it in a certain context. An attempt to uncover the definition of culture as part of the process, the activity and axiological approaches is made. In order to systematize the token "culture", the author highlights the group definitions, which are based on different concepts: social heritage, standardized behavior, abstract behavior, behaviorism, biological phenomena. Based on the review of the concept, dialectical approach to the definition of "culture", the author made a number of suppositions, allowing to reveal the essence and complexity of the phenomenon.
