Complex literary search with use of the electronic databases eLIBRARY, PubMed, MEDLINE, Elsevier is executed. Range of research included the clinical cases, randomized researches and reviews of literature including use of vacuum therapy in treatment of the pilonidal sinus disease. The limited number of works is found, all are published from 2003-2015, from them 5 works are presented in the form of clinical cases with number of patients from 1 to 5 and 3 works - in the form of randomized clinical trials with total of patients from 19 to 49.Vacuum therapy gains the increasing popularity and allows improving results of treatment of the pilonidal sinus disease. However the method is not deprived of shortcomings and does not exclude complication development: suppuration and a divergence of edges of a wound, irritation of skin, recurrence of a disease, long healing, pain, bad odor, noise of pump, air leakage, inconvenience of carrying vacuum device. They can be eliminated by use in treatment of modern portable devices for vacuum therapy, an exception of therapy of patients with a low arrangement of a postoperative wound and rapprochement of edges of a wound when the vacuum-assisted closure device is placed.
