<p>In recent years the quantity of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system has been steadily increasing, and that to a large extent affects the quality of life of the population. Various foot deformities take the leading place in this category. Podiatry – section of Orthopaedics, studying the pathology of the foot congenital, acquired, traumatic origin, variants of norm and border states with preclinical manifestations of disease, as well as orthotic and the shoe providing patients. At the moment there are many different methods of assessing the foot functional status. All of them can be divided into 2 groups: methods assessing static function and methods assessing dynamic function. In that paper we will describe the most widespread of them: Foot posture index, plantography and dynamoplantography. These methods can give full description of both static and dynamic functions of foot. We suppose that knowing modern diagnostic possibilities will give scientists an opportunity for more detail research of foot functional status.</p>
